Grand Vin is the flagship cuvée of Domaine de L’Ostal from the top Minervois La Livinière appellation and embodies the very essence of the estate. Carefully selected syrah, grenache, mourvèdre and carignan are vinified parcel by parcel and aged for around twelve months in French oak. The wine displays an almost opaque colour and a powerful bouquet of black fruits. On the palate it is silky, full-bodied and layered, with a generous core of fruit, velvety tannins and finely judged freshness. Flavours of lavender, thyme, sandalwood and sweet spice drive a long, spicy-mineral finish and hint at significant ageing potential. A true Grand Vin du Midi that pairs superbly with slow-braised meats, grilled beef or lamb, game dishes and rich plates featuring dark chocolate.

The Grand Vin ages for 12 months in second-use barriques, gaining spice, depth and polished structure.
