Domaine A.F. Gros Pommard 1c.Les Arvelets: The essence of true craftsmanship
Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets from Domaine A.F. Gros comes from steep slopes below the village of Pommard with classic clay-limestone soils. The pinot noir is harvested by hand, vinified in small lots and matured in French oak barrels. The bouquet opens with dark cherry, blackberry and plum, joined by violets, forest floor and a touch of black pepper. On the palate Les Arvelets is dense, spicy and firmly structured, with ripe tannins and vibrant acidity. Oak notes are finely integrated and frame the concentrated fruit rather than dominating it. The long, savoury and mineral finish makes this premier cru an excellent match for game birds, braised beef and mushroom-based dishes.
