Château d'Aiguilhe Côtes de Castillon 2019 0,75l

Château d’Aiguilhe, part of the Neipperg portfolio, lies on a high clay-limestone plateau in Castillon – Côtes de Bordeaux. About 90 hectares of vines are planted mainly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which draw freshness and minerality from the stony soils. Harvesting is done plot by plot, fermentation takes place in stainless-steel and concrete vats, and the wine is matured in French oak barrels. The bouquet offers dark berries, blueberry and cherry with hints of graphite, smoke and spice. On the palate Château d’Aiguilhe is powerful and concentrated yet juicy, with ripe tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, spicy, fruit-driven finish – a distinctly modern Right Bank Bordeaux.

Sixteen months on the lees in new oak barrels give the wine power, aromatic depth and silky fullness.
