Ebner-Ebenauer Grüner Veltliner Alte Reben comes from over 60-year-old vines on the limestone-rich Steinberg vineyard in the Weinviertel. Farmed organically, the site delivers low yields and highly concentrated fruit. The nose offers ripe yellow apple, pear, melon, a touch of grapefruit and fresh garden herbs. On the palate, the wine is powerful and mouth-filling, with plenty of extract-driven fruit, classic Veltliner pepperiness and a distinct saline minerality. Lively acidity keeps the richness in check and leads into a long, spicy finish. This is a serious, age-worthy Grüner Veltliner that shines with roasted poultry, hearty Austrian dishes and mature cheeses.
