| Category | Wines - White wine |
| For connoisseurs: Wenzel Michael Furmint Stockkultur from Rust | |
| Michael Wenzel Furmint Stockkultur comes from densely planted plots in Rust where around 8,000 vines per hectare are trained as single stakes. These old vines root deep in poor soils and produce small, highly concentrated berries. On the nose the wine shows yellow tropical fruit, quince and greengage alongside Nashi pear, mirabelle and fine herbal spice. On the palate this Furmint is powerful and structured, with juicy fruit, lively acidity and a creamy mid-palate. Marked minerality and discreet oak give depth, tension and a long, salty finish. An expressive, ageworthy white that pairs beautifully with refined cuisine, sauced fish dishes, poultry or flavourful vegetable plates. | |
