Ernst Triebaumer Blaufränkisch Rusterberg NV 0,75l

Blaufränkisch Rusterberg from Ernst Triebaumer is sourced from the slopes around Rust and is deliberately blended across vintages. The bouquet combines blackberry, sour cherry, raspberry and red cherry with spicy hints of cinnamon and clove. On the palate the wine is dry, powerful and firmly structured, with present yet ripe tannins and subtle oak spice. The Leithaberg location adds tension, freshness and a clear mineral streak. Rusterberg strikes a balance between youthful fruit and more mature complexity while remaining approachable. A characterful food wine for roasts, grilled meats, hearty pasta dishes or savoury cheeses.

Ageing in large oak casks underlines the firm, mineral Rusterberg style.

The grape variety: Blaufränkisch

Blaufränkisch is a Central European red grape known for dark cherry, pepper, fresh acidity and structured tannins. It is especially important in Austria and Hungary.

The grape is exciting because it combines elegance with savoury spice. Pair Blaufränkisch with duck, pork, lamb, goulash, mushrooms, sausages and hard cheeses.
