The Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot blend from Ernst Triebaumer is sourced from vineyards around Rust and represents a powerful yet elegant style of red wine. The bouquet is dominated by cassis, dark berries and plum, underpinned by cedar, tobacco and subtle spice. On the palate the wine is dry, full-bodied and firmly structured, with ripe tannins and well-judged oak. Limestone-rich soils contribute tension and a cool, mineral note on the long finish. This cuvée is an excellent match for beef, lamb, grilled steaks or richly seasoned braised dishes and reflects the international side of Burgenland’s wine culture.
