Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Faiveley is one of the estate’s most powerful and expressive reds. Vines grow on stony, limestone based soils in one of Gevrey Chambertin’s most highly regarded sites. The bouquet is intense, showing black cherry, dark berries, violets and refined spice. The Great Vertical Tasting: A wine through the mirror of time.
Anyone who compares wine across several vintages discovers its development in a particularly impressive way. A vertical tasting reveals how style, maturity, structure and aromas change over time – and helps to find the right vintage for personal taste or a special occasion.
The grape variety: Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir is a refined red grape known for red cherry, raspberry, floral notes, spice and silky tannins. It is most famous in Burgundy but thrives in many cool-climate regions.
It pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, mushrooms, salmon, pork and game birds. Its fascination lies in finesse, fragrance and the way it expresses origin.
