Barolo Riserva del Centenario from Giuseppe Contratto is a special selection drawn from the historic cellars of this traditional estate in Canelli. Only the finest lots of nebbiolo are chosen, aged in large oak casks and then for many years in bottle before release. The bouquet is complex, with dried red fruits, rose, leather, forest floor, liquorice and cigar box. On the palate the Riserva is dense and deep yet extremely refined, showing ripe, polished tannins and lively, perfectly integrated acidity. A very long, savoury and balsamic finish invites contemplative sipping. This rare Barolo is ideal with slow‑braised beef, game or richly flavoured mushroom dishes.
