Gusbourne Sparkling Brut Reserve 2018 1,5l in gift box

Gusbourne Brut Reserve is the signature expression of the estate, blending Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier into an elegant English sparkling wine. Grapes from chalk, clay and sandy‑loam soils in Kent and West Sussex bring both tension and ripe fruit. Pale gold in the glass, it shows a fine, persistent stream of bubbles. The nose bursts with citrus, green apple and pear alongside notes of peach, caramel, toasted hazelnut and brioche. The palate is bold and generous yet perfectly balanced, with pink grapefruit, soft stone fruit and pastry tones leading to a long, zesty finish. A versatile Brut for aperitif, seafood or white‑meat dishes.

Thirty-six months on the lees brings fine brioche and pastry notes while preserving fresh fruit.

Gusbourne

Between Romney Marsh and the Channel, Gusbourne in England has shaped a modern classic. After the first vines were planted in 2004 at Appledore, Kent, the estate chose a strict rule: every bottle comes from its own vineyards, rooted in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for traditional‑method sparkling wine....

The grape variety: Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a globally renowned white grape from Burgundy, capable of crisp, mineral, creamy or oak-aged styles. Its flavours range from citrus and apple to peach, butter, nuts and toast.

It pairs with seafood, chicken, creamy pasta, mushrooms, lobster and soft cheeses. Chardonnay is exciting because it can be beautifully simple or profoundly complex. Chardonnay
