Blanc de Blanc Hochberg Reserve by Hannes Haiden is sourced from limestone-rich slopes on the Leithaberg above Oggau. This blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc is partly aged in stainless steel and partly for several months in Burgundy barrels before being reunited in tank. The bouquet offers yellow apple, ripe pear, citrus, white flowers and delicate toasted notes. On the palate the wine is creamy yet mineral and tense, with juicy fruit, well-integrated acidity and finely judged oak. A long, salty-spicy finish makes it an excellent match for fish, poultry or refined vegetarian dishes.
Partial ageing in 500-litre oak, blended back with a stainless steel component, gives this Blanc de Blancs balance between oak influence and mineral clarity.
