Jean Charton Chevalier Montrachet,Clos des Chevaliers gc. 2020 0,75l

From the Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru in Puligny-Montrachet, this white Burgundy is made entirely from Chardonnay. Clos des Chevaliers has been a monopole of the Chartron family since 1917. Clay and limestone soils give the wine a distinctive mineral backbone. Fermentation takes place entirely in oak, followed by ageing on fine lees and a final period in tank. The bouquet combines delicate blossom, citrus tones and subtle nutty accents. On the palate it is concentrated yet poised, with freshness, precision and a persistent saline finish. Its depth and restraint make it especially compelling with turbot and refined, creamy sauces.

Today, fifth-generation siblings Jean-Michel and Anne-Laure Chartron farm about 14.5 hectares in Puligny-Montrachet and neighbouring villages....

The grape variety: Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a globally renowned white grape from Burgundy, capable of crisp, mineral, creamy or oak-aged styles. Its flavours range from citrus and apple to peach, butter, nuts and toast.

It pairs with seafood, chicken, creamy pasta, mushrooms, lobster and soft cheeses. Chardonnay is exciting because it can be beautifully simple or profoundly complex. Chardonnay
