Georg by Juliana Wieder is a powerful red blend of Blaufrankisch and Syrah from Mittelburgenland. Grapes from warm hillside vineyards around Neckenmarkt are harvested by hand and vinified with great care. The bouquet shows dark berries, black cherry and blackberry alongside peppery spice, herbs, smoke and dark chocolate. On the palate the blend is dense, savoury and refined, with ripe berry fruit, firm fine grained tannins and fresh acidity. Mineral tones from limestone and slate based soils lend length and precision. The finish is long, gently smoky and warming. A characterful red from Mittelburgenland for game, lamb, braised beef and mature mountain cheeses.
