Vin de Constance from Klein Constantia is an icon among South African sweet wines, grown in the cool Constantia valley near Cape Town. The nose is intensely perfumed with apricot, ripe peach, candied orange peel, lychee, floral honey and gentle spice. On the palate the wine is rich, silky and surprisingly bright, carried by vibrant acidity. The sweetness feels pure and refined, never cloying, and is balanced by citrus lift and a touch of salty minerality. Hints of caramel, tea and dried fruit unfold in the long, layered finish. A timeless dessert wine for fruit based puddings, citrus tarts, fine pastries or simply to savour on its own at the end of the evening.

This sweet wine first matures in 500-litre oak barrels and then in large foudres, building density and mature complexity.
