Krutzler Blaufränkisch Eisenberg DAC 2025 0,75l

Krutzler's Eisenberg DAC comes from Blaufränkisch grown in Reihburg and Weinberg, across Deutsch Schützen and Eisenberg. The iron-rich loam and slate soils suit the estate's cool, precise style. Aromatically it leans toward dark fruit and cherry, lifted by subtle herbs. Fresh acidity, fine tannins and a lightly salty finish give the palate drive. Fermentation is in stainless steel, followed by further time in tank and maturation in large wooden casks. Served lightly cool, it shows its savoury, mineral character without excess weight. Game, pasta, dark meats and aromatic Thai dishes are natural matches.

The grape variety: Blaufränkisch

Blaufränkisch is a Central European red grape known for dark cherry, pepper, fresh acidity and structured tannins. It is especially important in Austria and Hungary.

The grape is exciting because it combines elegance with savoury spice. Pair Blaufränkisch with duck, pork, lamb, goulash, mushrooms, sausages and hard cheeses.
