Local Mezcal is a handcrafted agave spirit bottled as a joven style mezcal and produced from the best parts of the agave plant. As a pechuga mezcal, maestro mezcalero Leonel Hernández uses both the "heart" of the agave and its fruit to create a particularly layered spirit. The nose opens with cooked agave, citrus, white pepper and gentle herbal notes. On the palate it is smooth, balanced and approachable, with subtle smokiness, a hint of sweetness and touches of tropical fruit. The texture is silky and rounded, the finish medium in length and pleasantly spicy.
