Marius by Chapoutier Syrah Grenache reflects the warmth of southern France. The colour is clear red with deep purple glints and a powerful nose of blackberry, cherry and raspberry. Spicy notes of pepper, liquorice and Mediterranean herbs add complexity and a savoury edge. On the palate the wine is concentrated yet approachable, with structured but silky tannins and well judged freshness. Red and dark berry flavours stay at the core, supported by a subtle floral touch. The body is medium and smooth, giving a rounded, easy drinking impression. This red is a natural companion for grilled meats, tomato based pasta and relaxed meals with friends.
Ageing on fine lees supports the spicy fruit and gives the Syrah-Grenache cuvée additional structure.
