For connoisseurs: Monte Faustino di Fornaser Valpolicella Classico from Veneto
Monte Faustino di Fornaser’s Valpolicella Classico comes from hand‑picked grapes grown on hillside vineyards around San Pietro in Cariano in the historic Classico zone. The blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella pours a bright ruby red. The bouquet combines floral hints of rose and violet with juicy black cherry and a touch of almond. On the palate the wine is fresh and supple, medium‑bodied and beautifully balanced. Lively acidity keeps the red‑berry fruit crisp, while fine tannins give gentle grip. The finish is dry and appetising, with notes of cherry, spice and subtle bitter almond. A versatile Valpolicella that shines with pasta, pizza, cured meats and everyday Italian dishes.
