Dominio de Pingus Pingus,Ribera del Duero 2021 1,5l
Pingus from Ribera del Duero is a true cult wine, sourced from very old Tempranillo vines rooted in poor, high‑altitude soils. The bouquet is deep and brooding, with dark berries, black cherry and ripe plum intertwined with hints of ripe peach, violet, graphite, tobacco and spicy oak. On the palate the wine is powerful yet remarkably silky, with great concentration, fine‑grained, chalky tannins and vibrant acidity. Layers of blue and black fruit, cocoa, licorice and subtle earth unfold slowly. The finish is long, dry and mineral, suggesting impressive ageing potential. A majestic Ribera del Duero to savour on its own or with refined, flavourful meat dishes.
Across the stark high plains of Ribera del Duero, Dominio de Pingus in La Horra pursues precision like a creed: old Tinto Fino parcels—Barroso and San Cristóbal—sit above 800 metres, rooted in calcareous layers, gravel and clay slopes that keep the fruit taut. Tiny yields, hand harvesting, severe selection and biodynamic farming translate site into structure, not spectacle, year after year....

The grape variety: Tempranillo
Tempranillo is a leading Iberian red grape, known for cherry and plum fruit, savory spice, balanced tannins and a strong affinity for oak ageing.
It is excellent with lamb, pork, tapas, grilled meats and aged cheeses, offering styles from fresh and juicy to complex, mature and ageworthy.
