Planteray Original Dark Barbados & Jamaica is a deeply coloured blend of young Barbadian rums and older high-ester Jamaican components. The nose is inviting, with plum compote, banana, vanilla and caramel over molasses, cocoa and baking spice. On the palate the rum is full but smooth, delivering toffee, tropical dried fruit and a touch of pepper, clove and cinnamon. Subtle roasted notes add depth without heaviness. A medium-length, fruity and gently spicy finish makes Original Dark a versatile choice for classic mixed drinks and an easy sipper on its own.
