Poças 40 Years Old Tawny is a rare, long-aged tawny that showcases the very best of the house’s style. The colour is deep amber with greenish tinges on the rim, a classic sign of age. The bouquet is intense and complex, offering walnuts, almonds, dried fruits and refined smoky notes, together with hints of coffee, caramel and polished oak. On the palate the Port is dense, round and remarkably precise, with layers of mature fruit, nutty spice and vibrant acidity. The finish is superbly long and intricate, lingering for minutes. This is a true collector’s Port, made for slow contemplation. It is a benchmark example of how extended ageing in wood can create depth without sacrificing balance.
