Poças Vintage Port is a concentrated single-harvest Port produced only in outstanding years from top Douro vineyards. The traditional grape varieties are foot-trodden in granite lagares before a short period in wood and long ageing in bottle. It shows a deep ruby colour and a powerful aromatic profile of blackcurrant, raspberry and dark cherry, wrapped in subtle floral and spicy notes. On the palate the wine is dense and full-bodied, with vibrant acidity, firm ripe tannins and impressive fruit intensity. The long, tightly woven finish underlines its ability to age gracefully and rewards those who allow the bottle time in the cellar.
Ageing in wooden vats supports the dense, full-bodied fruit and prepares the Vintage Port for long bottle ageing.
