Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva docg. 2020 0,75l

Poggio di Sotto’s Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is crafted from the estate’s oldest parcels of sangiovese and released only in particularly harmonious vintages. Following spontaneous fermentation, the wine ages for many months in a small selection of large oak casks and then for an extended period in bottle. The bouquet is deep and complex, with ripe red fruits, orange zest, dried herbs, liquorice and subtle roasted notes. On the palate the Riserva is dense yet astonishingly graceful, marked by salty minerality, vibrant acidity and tightly woven, silky tannins. A profound wine for contemplation, perfectly suited to richly flavoured meats and long‑matured cheeses.

The grape variety: Sangiovese

Sangiovese is Italy's leading red grape, famous in Tuscany. It brings cherry fruit, herbs, savoury spice, lively acidity and firm structure to many classic Italian wines.

It pairs beautifully with tomato pasta, pizza, grilled meat, roast pork, mushrooms and pecorino. A versatile choice for lovers of elegant, food-friendly reds. Sangiovese
