Prieur Chambertin: The essence of true craftsmanship
Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Jacques Prieur shows Pinot Noir at its most intense and profound. Vines grow in very old brown earth over fractured limestone with an east-facing exposure. The bouquet combines black cherry, blackberry and cassis with notes of forest floor, leather, tobacco, clove and a hint of menthol spice. On the palate the wine is dense and powerful yet precisely chiselled, with ripe, silky tannins and long-lasting intensity. A persistent stony minerality brings lift and freshness to the finish. This is a monumental Grand Cru for fine beef, game dishes or richly sauced mushroom cuisine.
