Rodolfo Cosimi Terra Rossa Brunello di Montalcino 2001 0,75l

Rodolfo Cosimi Terra Rossa Brunello di Montalcino comes from selected hillside vineyards around Il Poggiolo near the town of Montalcino. Sandy loam soils with clay and abundant marl give Sangiovese Grosso plenty of character and depth. After a long fermentation in wooden vats and maturation in tonneaux and barriques, the wine shows an intense bouquet of red fruits, cherries and spicy notes. On the palate it is powerful and dense yet beautifully poised, with firm, well-shaped tannins. Lively acidity keeps the ripe fruit fresh and focused. A long, persistent finish echoes spice and red berry flavours. A perfect partner for braised beef, lamb and mature cheeses.

The grape variety: Sangiovese

Sangiovese is Italy's leading red grape, famous in Tuscany. It brings cherry fruit, herbs, savoury spice, lively acidity and firm structure to many classic Italian wines.

It pairs beautifully with tomato pasta, pizza, grilled meat, roast pork, mushrooms and pecorino. A versatile choice for lovers of elegant, food-friendly reds. Sangiovese
