Blaufränkisch St. Margarethen from Weingut Rosi Schuster comes from old vines rooted in clay and limestone soils close to Lake Neusiedl. Hand-picked grapes are gently handled in the cellar before the wine matures in large oak and used barriques. The bouquet shows dark berries, cherries and herbs supported by a cool, chalky minerality. On the palate the wine is dense, juicy and finely etched, with firm tannins and a distinctive spicy character. Lively acidity adds tension and drive. The long finish is piquant, mineral and very elegant. This is a highly expressive red with excellent potential for further bottle ageing.

Barrel ageing supports the red fruit and herbal spice, making the Blaufränkisch feel silky and finely structured.
