Sommer Grüner Veltliner Schiefer grows on slate soils along the Leithaberg and counts among the estate s characterful DAC white wines. Matured mainly in stainless steel with a proportion in large old oak, it combines brightness with a touch of creaminess. The bouquet reveals ripe yellow fruit, spicy pepper, herbs and a hint of salty minerality. On the palate the wine is dry, complex and inviting, with juicy texture, well-integrated acidity and cool, stony notes. The finish is long, slightly salty and delicately spicy. A highly versatile food partner for traditional Austrian dishes, white meats, pasta and richly flavoured vegetable cuisine.
