The Kurayoshi Pure Malt Whisky 43% is the core expression of the brand from the Matsui distillery in Tottori. It is a blended malt made from selected Scottish and Japanese whiskies matured in oak and proofed with volcanic stone filtered spring water. The nose delivers sweet oak, honey and malt with hints of sherried fruit, nuts and a touch of earthy peat. On the palate the whisky is soft and rounded, showing dried fruit, vanilla, caramel and gentle baking spice. A subtle smoke note and nutty flavours accompany the mild, well balanced finish. A versatile Japanese pure malt that works equally well neat, over ice or as a refined base for whisky cocktails.
