The Kurayoshi Pure Malt 12 Years Old is a well matured blended malt from the Matsui distillery in Tottori. The component whiskies spend over twelve years in ex bourbon white oak casks before being proofed with the soft, mineral rich waters of Mount Daisen. The nose offers sweet malt, ripe pears and white grapes alongside orange zest, honey, vanilla and roasted nuts. On the palate aromatic barley meets notes of apple, grape, caramel, walnut and gentle smoky spice. Lime and ginger nuances carry into a smooth, well balanced and pleasantly long finish. A refined, layered pure malt that shows its best when enjoyed neat from a tulip shaped glass.
