Aumann Pinot Noir Reserve 2024 0,75l

Aumann Pinot Noir Reserve showcases the elegant side of Austria’s Thermenregion and stylistically nods to fine Burgundy. In the glass it displays a bright garnet colour and a delicate bouquet of red berries, rosehip and a touch of forest floor. On the palate the wine is gentle yet focused, with juicy red fruit, subtle smoky notes and soft tannins. Ageing in oak adds spice and structure without overpowering the finesse of Pinot Noir. Lively acidity provides freshness and a smooth flow across the palate. A characterful Pinot Noir that pairs beautifully with poultry, veal or mushroom dishes, as well as enjoyed on its own.

Tribuswinkel, in the Thermenregion south of Vienna, doesn’t trade on grand names—and Leo Aumann turns that into a virtue. The estate notes that the family has run the winery for more than two decades, shaped by a mild climate and a patchwork of soils; it even points to Roman-era vine growing in the area as part of the region’s long memory. On the wine shop pages those soils become explicit cues: “Steinfeld (gravel)” here, “loamy sand” there—practical markers of place. Craft shows up in élevage choices rather than slogans, for example St....

The grape variety: Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a refined red grape known for red cherry, raspberry, floral notes, spice and silky tannins. It is most famous in Burgundy but thrives in many cool-climate regions.

It pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, mushrooms, salmon, pork and game birds. Its fascination lies in finesse, fragrance and the way it expresses origin.
