M.Chapoutier Le Meal ROUGE Degustation Verticale 2000-2002 4,5l

The M. Chapoutier Ermitage Le Méal Rouge Degustation Verticale OWC is a wooden-case selection built around the single-parcel wine Le Méal Rouge from one of Hermitage’s most acclaimed slopes. Depending on the release it brings together several vintages, offering a journey through the evolution of this syrah that balances power and elegance. Deep colour, aromas of blackberry jam, ripe cherry and blueberry, along with smoke, licorice, pepper and mineral notes, are typical markers. On the palate the wines show great density, silky ripe tannins and vibrant freshness, leading into a very long finish. This vertical case is ideal for ambitious tastings, serious collectors and grand menus based on beef, lamb, game and mushroom dishes.

The grape variety: Syrah / Shiraz

Syrah, also called Shiraz, is a dark-skinned red grape known for blackberry, plum, pepper, smoke, spice and firm structure. It ranges from elegant Rhône styles to rich Australian Shiraz.

It pairs with lamb, beef, venison, barbecue, sausages, mushrooms, olives and hard cheese. A bold, savoury red for lovers of depth and spice. Syrah / Shiraz
