Château Angélus is one of the emblematic estates of Saint-Emilion, its vineyards forming a natural amphitheatre above the village. Merlot and a high proportion of Cabernet Franc are planted on clay-limestone and sandy soils, giving both power and finesse. In the cellar each plot is vinified separately before maturation in mostly new French oak barrels. The bouquet offers blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry, joined by violet, graphite, cedar and subtle roasted notes. On the palate the wine is rich and velvety yet precise, with ripe tannins, impressive depth and a very long, spicy-mineral finish – a Saint-Emilion built for special occasions and long ageing.
On the limestone-tinged slopes of Saint‑Émilion, Château Angélus crafts a Right Bank signature where Merlot meets the graphite edge of Cabernet Franc. Clay‑limestone parcels and hillside exposures are treated as a mosaic, built for balance between density, freshness and aromatic clarity....
