Château Batailley Pauillac 5cc. 2023 0,75l

Château Batailley is a classified Grand Cru from Pauillac with around 60 hectares of vines rooted in deep gravel mixed with sand and silica. The blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, giving structure, depth and spicy complexity. After fermentation the wine ages in oak barrels, a proportion of them new, to balance power with finesse. The bouquet shows cassis, blackcurrant and plum alongside cedar, graphite, violets and sweet spice. On the palate Château Batailley is powerful and dense yet retains freshness, with firm ripe tannins and impressive length – a textbook Pauillac to enjoy with entrecôte, lamb or game dishes.

Ageing with 57% new oak supports structure and gives the wine calm, clear depth.

Château Batailley

At the heart of the Médoc, close to the Gironde, Château Batailley embodies Pauillac (Pauillac) with 1855 Grand Cru Classé pedigree. Deep gravel, sandy gravels and ancient Günz deposits favour Cabernet Sauvignon and give the wine its signature line of tension, while Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are used as precision accents depending on the plot....

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.

The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses. Cabernet Sauvignon
