Château Cheval Blanc is one of the most iconic estates in Saint-Emilion, lying on the border with Pomerol on a complex patchwork of clay, gravel and sandy soils. Its many plots are planted mainly with Cabernet Franc and Merlot, grape varieties that complement each other perfectly on this terroir. Each parcel is vinified separately and the wines are aged in French oak barrels to capture every nuance. The bouquet combines ripe red and black fruits with floral notes, graphite, subtle spice and hints of truffle. On the palate Cheval Blanc is deep, silky and incredibly precise, with refined tannins, vibrant acidity and a very long, multi-layered finish – a legendary Saint-Emilion built for long ageing.
