Château Croix de Labrie Saint Emilion 2020 0,75l
Château Croix de Labrie is a small Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé estate whose micro-plots cover just over five hectares. The vines are rooted in a patchwork of sites around Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes on clay-limestone soils with asterite limestone that bring both density and mineral lift. Merlot dominates the plantings, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc completing the blend. The vineyard is farmed organically and biodynamically with very low yields, and all fruit is picked by hand, plot by plot. In the glass Croix de Labrie offers ripe, dark berry fruit, floral hints, graphite and fine spice. On the palate it is powerful, silky and highly concentrated, with ripe tannins, lively acidity and a long, deep, mineral finish.
Eighteen months in French oak barriques with a high proportion of new wood give the wine density, structure and fine spice.
