Château de Sales Pomerol 2008 0,375l
Château de Sales is the largest estate in the Pomerol appellation, situated in the north‑west of the commune. Out of some 90 hectares of land, about 48 hectares are planted with vines, mainly Merlot with smaller shares of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The soils are composed of fine gravel and sand with patches of clay and iron‑rich crasse de fer, giving the wines elegance and finesse. The bouquet offers red and dark berries, plum and subtle floral tones with hints of cocoa and spice. On the palate Château de Sales is medium‑bodied, juicy and well‑balanced, with silky tannins, lively acidity and a charming, fruit‑driven finish.
Maturation in oak barrels supports the fruit-driven Pomerol style with fine, restrained oak influence.
