Château Doisy Daëne Barsac 2cc. 2018 0,75l

Château Doisy-Daëne is a 2nd Growth Barsac estate owned by the Dubourdieu family since 1924. Around sixteen hectares of vines grow on limestone-rich soils and are planted mainly with Sémillon, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc and a touch of Muscadelle. The old vines are farmed sustainably with a strong ecological approach. Several passes through the vineyard are needed to pick perfectly botrytised berries, which are fermented and aged in oak barrels. The bouquet shows citrus, white flowers, apricot and exotic fruit with honey and gentle spice. On the palate Doisy-Daëne is sweet, creamy and intense yet lifted by vibrant acidity, ending very long with the incisive freshness that characterises Barsac.

Classed as a Second Growth in 1855, the name was defined by J.‑J.‑E. Daëne; since 1924 the Dubourdieu family has stewarded the property, pairing heritage with modern precision....

The grape variety: Sémillon

Sémillon is a classic white grape of Bordeaux and Sauternes, also famous in Australia's Hunter Valley. It offers citrus, wax, honey, texture and ageing potential.

It pairs with shellfish, roast chicken, creamy sauces, mushrooms, soft cheese, foie gras and fruit desserts. A refined white grape for dry and sweet wines. Sémillon
