Château Haut Bergey Pessac-Léognan rouge 2019 0,75l

Château Haut-Bergey lies in the heart of Léognan and farms around 40 hectares on sandy-gravel soils with a clay subsoil. The estate is fully certified organic and biodynamic and is known for a fruit-forward, pure style of Pessac-Léognan. The red wine is based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with Cabernet Franc and other classic Bordeaux grapes in the blend. The bouquet reveals ripe red and black fruits, cherry and plum with smoky, herbal and gently oaky notes. On the palate Haut-Bergey is juicy and well balanced, with fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity and an elegant, fruit-driven finish that captures its modern, precise character.

Maturation in large casks, amphorae, concrete eggs and 300-litre barrels keeps the fruit vibrant and shapes a powerful structure.

Château Haut Bergey

Right in the village of Léognan, Château Haut‑Bergey in Pessac‑Léognan marries a 15th‑century lineage with a decidedly contemporary conscience. Under Paul Garcin the estate chose a demanding path: organic and biodynamic farming, Biodyvin certification, and a cellar philosophy built around purity....

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.

The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses. Cabernet Sauvignon
