| Château La Conseillante is one of the most admired estates on the Pomerol plateau, lying between Cheval Blanc and Pétrus. Its compact 12-hectare vineyard straddles the border with Saint-Émilion and combines cool clay in the north-east with gravelly parcels to the south-west. Merlot and Cabernet Franc dominate, with many old vines giving naturally low yields. The bouquet reveals red and black berries, violet and peony, together with subtle spice and truffle notes.
