Château La Serre Saint Emilion gcc. 2016 0,75l

Château La Serre is a Saint‑Émilion Grand Cru Classé with just seven hectares of vines on the famous limestone plateau above the medieval town. The south‑facing plots are planted mainly with Merlot and a share of Cabernet Franc on a thin layer of clay over hard limestone. Vines average around thirty to thirty‑five years of age and produce naturally low yields with great flavour intensity. The bouquet reveals black cherry, currant and red berry fruit with violet, chalk, tobacco and subtle oak. On the palate La Serre is concentrated yet very refined, with creamy, chalk‑inflected tannins, lively acidity and a long, elegant Saint‑Émilion finish.

Ageing in barriques with around 50 percent new oak supports the fine fruit and gives this Saint-Émilion a supple structure.
