Château Le Gay is a small but highly regarded property on the Pomerol plateau, with around 6.5 hectares of old vines. The vineyard is planted mainly with Merlot and a smaller share of Cabernet Franc on clay and gravel soils that give both power and opulence. After rigorous hand selection, many lots are vinified and aged entirely in new oak barrels, adding to the wine’s creamy, dense texture. The bouquet is packed with black cherry, blackberry and plum, layered with violet, licorice, dark chocolate and graphite. On the palate Le Gay is lush, concentrated and silky, with ripe tannins, generous dark fruit and a long, spicy finish that captures the hedonistic side of Pomerol.

Vinification and ageing in barriques give this Pomerol density, supple texture and subtle oak nuances.
