Château Latour à Pomerol

Château Latour à Pomerol 2023 0,75l

Château Latour à Pomerol is a long-established estate on the Pomerol plateau with just about eight hectares under vine. The vineyard is planted mainly with Merlot and a smaller share of Cabernet Franc on gravel-rich soils over clay, bringing both depth and warmth to the wine. Grapes are hand-picked, fermentation takes place in concrete tanks and ageing follows in small oak barrels. The bouquet reveals ripe sweet cherries, baked plums and dark berries, with notes of licorice, cocoa, tobacco and fine herbal spice. On the palate Latour à Pomerol is medium- to full-bodied, creamy and very smooth, with ripe, rounded tannins and generous dark fruit. Juicy sweetness of flavour is balanced by well-integrated acidity and a subtle earthy, truffley nuance. The long, harmonious finish highlights the sensual, warmly spicy character of this Pomerol plateau wine.

Ageing in French oak gives the wine structure, calm and fruity depth.
