Clos Triguedina PETIT CLOS Cahors 2021 0,75l

Petit Clos from Clos Triguedina is a fruit-driven expression of Cahors that showcases malbec in a supple, approachable style. The blend is largely malbec with a smaller share of merlot grown on red clay and limestone terraces and harvested entirely by hand. Fermentation in stainless steel or used barriques preserves bright fruit and fine tannins. The bouquet reveals black cherry, blackberry and plum together with violets, sour cherry and gentle spice. On the palate Petit Clos is juicy, rounded and easy-drinking, with soft tannins and refreshing acidity. Its generous, spicy finish makes it a great choice for barbecues, stews, mushroom dishes and hearty cheese boards.

Brief maturation in old oak barrels keeps the wine fresh and fruit-driven without placing the oak in the foreground.

Jean‑Luc and Sabine Baldès lead the estate today, and since 2023 their daughter Juliette has joined to secure the next handover without losing momentum....

The grape variety: Malbec

Malbec, also called Côt in France, is known for deep colour, plum, blackberry, black cherry, violet and spicy notes. Styles range from smooth and fruit-driven to powerful and structured.

It pairs especially well with steak, grilled meats, lamb, braised dishes, mushrooms and mature cheese. Malbec is exciting because it shows both Argentine richness and the firmer, traditional character of Cahors. Malbec
