Conterno Fantino Dolcetto d'Alba Bricco Bastia doc 2023 0,75l

Dolcetto d'Alba Bricco Bastia from Conterno Fantino is sourced from elevated vineyards around Monforte d'Alba, where limestone- and clay-rich soils give the wine freshness and spice. The vines are farmed organically, grapes are picked by hand and fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve pure fruit. The bouquet opens with dark cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, joined by violets, almonds and a touch of liquorice. On the palate Bricco Bastia is juicy, medium-bodied and surprisingly deep, driven by lively acidity and fine, rounded tannins. A fruity, gently savoury finish with a hint of bitter almond makes this dolcetto an easy-going yet characterful choice with antipasti, pasta, wood-fired pizza and rustic everyday dishes. It lingers on the palate with impressive length.

Six months in stainless steel preserve the juicy fruit and the clear, fresh Dolcetto style.

Conterno Fantino

In Monforte d’Alba, in the Piemonte hills, Conterno Fantino has stood for modern Langhe precision since 1982, when Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino joined forces. Their vineyards span famed Barolo zones—Ginestra, Bussia, Mosconi—where marl, sand, clay and limestone shape naturally firm structure....

The grape variety: Dolcetto

Dolcetto is a Piedmontese red grape known for black cherry fruit, moderate acidity, firm but approachable tannins and a dry almond-like finish.

It is ideal with pasta, charcuterie, pizza, roasted vegetables and everyday Italian dishes, offering plenty of flavour without the weight of bigger reds. Dolcetto
