| Plantation Panama 2010 is a limited release from the Don José distillery, made from molasses in a column still and aged first for years in bourbon casks in Panama before further maturation in Ferrand cognac barrels and a sherry cask finish in France. The nose is fragrant and complex, with fresh coconut, dill, plum and nectarine alongside citrus, almond, cinnamon, vanilla, honey and sesame. On the palate it is fresh, fruity and spicy, showing pear, berries, orange and figs framed by butterscotch, roasted coffee and a touch of pepper. A long, dry finish on coconut, banana, tobacco, chocolate and liquorice underscores the rum’s characterful, sipping‑oriented style. | |
