Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes: The essence of true craftsmanship
Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes from Domaine Faiveley is sourced from old Pinot Noir vines rooted in clay limestone parcels around the village. The deep rooting brings impressive concentration, intensity and finesse to the wine. On the nose it opens with black cherry, blackberry and redcurrant, wrapped in subtle pepper, earth and forest floor. The palate is juicy, powerful and yet very silky, with ripe, tightly knit tannins. Lively, well integrated acidity keeps everything fresh and energetic. A distinct mineral streak gives depth and length. This characterful Burgundy is excellent with braised beef, lamb, duck breast or mature hard cheeses.
