Gran Clos del Priorat is the flagship red of this estate in Bellmunt del Priorat, sourced from old Garnacha and Cariñena vines rooted in poor llicorella slate soils. Grapes from steep terraces and very old vines are hand-harvested and carefully selected. Extended ageing in French oak gives a deep, almost opaque colour and aromas of blackberry, plum, mocha, leather and wet stone. On the palate the wine is dense, concentrated and muscular, with ripe tannins, vibrant minerality and great length. A powerful, complex Priorat best served with mature beef, lamb or rich slow‑cooked dishes.
