Hugel Sélections de Grains Nobles Gewürztraminer 2010 0,75l

Gewurztraminer Selection de Grains Nobles from Famille Hugel is one of the estate s most precious sweet wines. Grapes come from carefully chosen plots around Riquewihr, harvested at extreme ripeness and gently pressed. The bouquet is remarkably intense, with rose petals, lychee, candied citrus peel, honey and sweet oriental spice over a subtle herbal backdrop. On the palate the wine is liqueur like, silky and richly sweet, yet lifted by vibrant acidity. Layers of exotic fruit, dried apricot and delicate spice unfold with each sip and linger endlessly. A majestic dessert wine to serve with foie gras, strong blue cheeses or fruit tarts on special occasions.

The grape variety: Gewürztraminer

Gewurztraminer is a highly aromatic white grape known for rose, lychee, tropical fruit, ginger and spice. It is usually rich, textured and medium to full-bodied, with moderate acidity.

It pairs especially well with spicy Asian dishes, roast pork, duck, pâté, washed-rind cheese, blue cheese and fruit-based desserts. Gewurztraminer
