Kollwentz Chardonnay Leithakalk 2025 0,75l

Chardonnay Leithakalk from Kollwentz is sourced from south and south-east facing vineyards on the Leithagebirge, where limestone soils give the variety great finesse. The grapes are hand-picked and the wine matures for several months on the lees in large wooden casks. On the nose it reveals lime zest, yellow fruit, quince and subtle herbal spice, with delicate nutty notes. The palate is full-bodied and creamy, yet remains taut and precise due to lively acidity. Distinct limestone minerality lends elegance and a faint salty grip on the finish. This Chardonnay is a versatile partner for fish, shellfish, pasta with creamy sauces and light meat dishes.

The place is steeped in time—top sites such as Steinzeiler and Tatschler appear in records as early as 1569/1570, and the family’s documented story at the Römerhof reaches back to 1775....
