Laurona Montsant is a Mediterranean red from D.O. Montsant, born from the collaboration between Celler Laurona, the Cannan family and René Barbier. The blend brings together Garnacha and Cariñena with Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from old vines in several villages. The bouquet reveals dark berries, cherry, garrigue herbs and a hint of chocolate. On the palate the wine is dense, spicy and elegant, with firm yet ripe tannins. Fresh acidity and the mineral imprint of the rocky soils give length and tension. A characterful Montsant to pour with braised meats, lamb dishes or hearty stews. A short decant helps the wine open up its full aromatic spectrum.
